Last weekend we went to a huge "geek-con" MCM Expo. I went to a couple of anime cons in Russia, but those were really tiny comparing to this one. It was really amazing. Many people were cosplaying, and I spotted a lot of really cool costumes. What I liked in particular is that there were disabled people wearing wonderful costumes. You won't see one at any of Russian cons, and that's sad.
Now a tiny bit of squee. I've seen Gareth David-Lloyd, the actor who played Ianto in Torchwood. He smiled to me and posed for a photo (especially for me as well). The worst part of it is that I forgot to take my camera with me, and my mobile phone only takes good pictures if you don't zoom in. I forgot about it, and as a result I've got a terribly blurry picture. Oh well.
Another bit of squee is that I've finally got the first Hobby Base Urd figurine, the one from the initial OVA. How I wish that my other "big" figures were here with me... It's a bit odd, but I feel attached to my small collection. I don't miss my manga or anime, but I do miss my Urd and Hild figurines.
